Community Engagement

ace stone + tiles is deeply involved with a charity close to its heart, the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association of QLD. MND is a debilitating disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.

At present there is no cure for MND, but through funding and awareness, a cure can be found.

Each year, ace attends the Royal Daytime Do, a lunch-time event filled with great food, silent auctions and the latest information on MND. All proceeds go to the Royal Brisbane Womens Hospital Foundation, specifically Dr Henderson’s research into MND. Please keep a look out on our site for fundraising efforts and how you can get involved at this lunch and other fundraising efforts.

For more information on MND, please visit the website MND Queensland.

We are excited this year to be involved in ‘Olivia’s Race Day’.

Starting as Olivia’s Lunch, the event was held in memory of Olivia Clark (26.02.01 – 04.03.01) and became an annual tradition for many groups of girlfriends who enjoy catching up, while supporting a great cause.

Olivia was born prematurely at Mater Mothers’ Hospital and was cared for in the Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU). Sadly she lost her struggle for life and it is in her memory that we raise vital funds for Mater’s NCCU. This unit cares for Queensland’s most vulnerable babies including those who are born prematurely or have life threatening conditions.

Olivia’s Race Day welcomes all supporters in what is a spectacular day of fundraising, friendship and success as many groups of girlfriends, their partners and friends gather together to support the babies and their families who don’t have an easy start to life.

For further information on Olivia’s Race Day and how to be involved, please visit the race day website.

Sunshine Coast Open House is a free public event that celebrates the region’s architecture and offers behind-the-scenes access to some of the Coast’s iconic buildings. We can’t wait to support this great initiative in 2023.
